Back when I was younger and less concerned about breaking a bone, I used to skateboard and snowboard. Not a lot, but I had fun doing it.It's been about 10 years since I had been on a snowboard, and I was a little worried about doing it again. I was worried I'd hurt myself, fall off the chairlift, get frostbite, or maybe all of the above. I mean, I have big things planned for this year, and I'd hate to have to miss out on any of them. But once I got back out there, I remembered how much fun it was. I also remembered how non-dangerous it really was. (The drive out there is another story.) Despite the frigid temps, it was a great night and one that I'm sure I'll remember for a long time.
The brave crew: Nathan, me, Laurie, and Steve. (Thanks to Nathan's wife, Sara, for taking the picture.)

At the end of the night, I took one last solo trip up the chair lift. I must have been the last one up, because I had the entire slope all to myself on the way down. This was a great feeling - and the perfect close to a great day.
